September, 2017

Dear Students, Parents and Friends of Hallsville School!

Welcome to everyone who loves Hallsville School!   Hallsville School is a special place with a long history for many of our families.   For others, this is your first experience with our community.   Many of our staff members have been here most or all of the their careers, but there are some new faces as well.  No matter who you are and how you got here, you are an important part of this great place!

We are the oldest elementary school in Manchester, being built in 1891.  We have had a few upgrades and additions along the way, but many of the original architectural details can still be seen throughout the building.   We are also the smallest elementary school, with a student body of approximately 300 students.  We serve neighborhood children in Kindergarten through Grade 5.  Most of our children walk to school.  We have a long history in the City of Manchester, and are still going strong!

Our website is updated often.  The web calendar is a good place to start, as all activities are entered for you to see.  Additional important announcements are also posted.   Our PTG also has a Facebook page, which I encourage you to visit.  Every month I send out a newsletter with all of the Hallsville happenings and important news.   Those newsletters are also posted on this website under the Principal’s Page.  Please watch for them so you don’t miss out on some fun and important events!

Parent engagement is crucial to the well-being of our school community.  I highly encourage you to participate in all of our events, attend our PTG meetings, volunteer to help out, and to communicate regularly with your child’s teacher.   This will really benefit your children!

I wish everyone a wonderful, happy and successful year at Hallsville!

Bonnie Skogsholm
